Shaping the
Future
The story starts to take shape in 2005. Three siblings came together to revive the consulting firm their father had built and make it their own. PROFESA, the construction and international business representation firm became a business and management consulting company. It is now focused on solving organizational challenges through the lenses of strategy, resource optimization, innovation and learning. They have worked for over a decade with companies from a variety of industries, as well as in the non-profit arena. As PROFESA has evolved, the threads of a new venture began to emerge.
The Art of Shaping surfaced in 2020 during the global CoVID pandemic lockdown. It integrated several different prior initiatives, methodologies, research and aspects of their own search for meaning. Today, it has a life of its own as new independent venture seeking to help organizations and individuals make the most out of their lives in pursuit of their purpose, empowering them to shape their future and make difference.
We believe discovering one’s purpose is the first step towards living a fulfilling life. The next is recognizing the skills necessary to build the future we want for ourselves and to face the challenges that come along our way.

With more than 25 years of experience, María Fernanda has found her passion in leading and facilitating the development of individuals and organizations. Her professional background is in strategic management, finance, operations, international business, change management, executive coaching, entrepreneurship, and talent development which gives her a unique broad vision. It is enriched significantly by her continuous contact with executives and business people in various industries.

With a background in architecture and design, Galo has focused on social impact projects and socio-economic development. His experience in the field, interpersonal relationship management, disruptive vision, and resourcefulness are some of his strengths. Having experience with a variety of populations from different ethnic backgrounds cultures and ages have nurtured him with their perspectives to generate insights with a broad vision and impact. With a clear methodology based on his long experience and the visualization of complex issues and their resolution, he can create spaces for personal transformation.

Luis is a multifaceted professional. After getting a BS in electrical and mechanical engineering he joined PROFESA and discovered his interests in organizational and strategic development. In these fields, he exploits his knowledge of technology, relevant methodologies, innovation, and design. Through his analytical and problem-solving abilities, he brings a non-traditional approach to management consulting. He has also expanded his professional background becoming an executive coach and a certified mediator in two prominent mediation centers in Quito, Ecuador.
